My research includes work in substance misuse, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and more broadly in behavioural medicine. This includes work in pharmacogenomics and the development of personalised medicine via the use of gene chips. I have over 240 published book chapters and papers in genetic, medical, psychiatric and psychological journals and have supervised over 30 completed PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows.

My work includes complex research project management, including clinical trials. Commercial collaboration and patent activity include licensing gene chip technology to Nanogen Inc. Previous positions have included being Director of the BRTC (Psychiatry) at UQ, Executive Director of the Institute of Health and Biomedical Science at QUT and I am currently Executive Dean, Faculty of Health, QUT.
